Looking for my inner child.

I think, that to become and stay happy adults we need to hold on to our inner child.

You know the one, the little voice that tells you to do something cheeky or mischievous. The one that you spend all day dismissing because "Thats not what an adult should be doing". The one that tempts you and the one you ignore.

A child, be it inner or actual, will only try for your attention for so long before it gets bored and wanders off. It's my belief that if you don't give your inner child attention this is when you start to struggle in adulthood. Children have no fear so if you get rid of that part of you, you'll struggle with all sorts of decision and mischief making.

Last year I started to push my inner child away. I spend about 6 months feeling unhappy and I couldn't figure out why. I was conforming to society and it was making me down right miserable. This year i've lured that inner child out again with the promise of more fun. Because I plan on having fun doesn't make me any less an adult, or business person for that matter. So, as a new year present for me i bought a set of Bauer Quads (see picture below). When I was 14-15 I used to be glued into my Bauer Turbo quads and to be fair, I was pretty good with the whole stunts and street hockey thing. Fast forward 15+ years and i'm standing in a car park wondering what the F i'm doing and should I actually go through with a leisurely roll.

Luckily for me, the inner child rocked up and I was off. The first 5-10minutes was pretty touch and go but I stayed up right and I was off for a 3 mile roll with my friend, Nikki. We stayed up right and managed a top speed of 14mph and didn't fall over once. #ProudAdultMoment. After my epic win (to me anyway) I was full of beans. I came home, had a roast dinner, followed by a homemade Gin and Lime slush puppy (hit me up for the recipe) then I hit Mondays To Do list.

Going back to my childhood passion really made me happy and in turn really helped with my productivity. Why not let your inner child out this week and have some fun. Who knows - It might help you become happy.
